It’s time to start using the gift
Recently as I was sitting with the Lord I saw a picture. The picture was of someone receiving a gift. The gift was very special and the receiver of the gift was very thankful. There was a problem though. The gift was put on display and only used on special occasions because not only was the gift valuable but the giver of the gift was very special. Looking at the picture I saw that the giver of the gift was saddened. The gift had been given to be used, not put on a shelf and only used when it seemed like the occasion required such a special gift to be used.
What the Lord said to me
When I asked the Lord what it was He was showing me this is what He said. “I have given you the gift of My Name to use. I have told you to go in My Name. My Name is above EVERY other name and because of the power of My Name, every other name must bow to it. My people understand the price that was paid for their ability to use My Name. They love Me so much that they are afraid to use the gift of My Name the way I intended it to be used, for fear of being disrespectful. They are afraid of bringing dishonour to My Name and they don’t understand how very powerful this gift is. The Lord said He is bigger and greater than anything we can do to His Name.
Gifts that are not used
I then thought about the times I had given gifts to people I love and the gifts had just been put away. Instead of using the gift as it was intended it was put away for use in the future or even forgotten. This made me sad when I knew the blessing that the gift would be if it was used every day. The Lord continued to speak to me and said that He feels sad too when people don’t use the gift of His Name the way He intended. There are times when we struggle and suffer through things that we don’t need to. We need to know how to use the gift He has given us – the power of His Name.
Jesus is One with the Father
The Name of Jesus has power and authority because He is One with the Father. John 10:25 (TPT) “The proof of who I am is revealed by all the miracles that I do in the name of my Father.” Jesus is the exact representation of His Father. Because of who the Father is – the Great I AM – Jesus was able to do the signs, wonders and miracles while here on earth. Jesus the Great I AM was sent by His Father who declared Himself in Exodus 3:14 to be I AM.
Jesus came in human form to show us who the Father is. John 10:30 tells us that Jesus and the Father are One. The Name of Jesus carries with it all the power, authority and creative ability that the names of God have. When He tells us to use His Name it is because of who His Father is.
Open and use the gift
Whatever situation or challenge you are facing today the Name of Jesus is greater. Sickness and disease must bow to the Name of Jesus because God is Jehovah Rapha – the Lord who heals you. You can overcome fear and anxiety in the Name of Jesus because God is Jehovah Raah the Good Shepherd and Jehovah Shammah the One who is there. He will never leave you or forsake you. Everything that causes you to be unsettled and tries to steal your peace must bow to the Name of Jesus. God is Jehovah Shalom – the One who is peace.
Whatever you need in your life today ask the Lord for a revelation of who He is for you in that area. What is His Name? Who does He say He is? In a non-religious, authentic way, know and understand that because of the shed blood of Jesus you can use the Name of Jesus to represent all that the Father has and all that the Father is. The Name of Jesus is greater than that situation. Trust His Name. Speak His Name. Call on His Name. Know that there is power and authority in His Name.
Philippians 2:9&10 (The Voice) So God raised Him (Jesus) up to the highest place and gave Him the name above all. So when His name is called, every knee will bow, in heaven, on earth, and below.
Don’t only use the gift of His Name at the end of your prayers. He gave you the gift to use as often as you need to. Trust in and call upon His Name for every situation you are facing. Whatever that is, whether good, bad or downright ugly, He invites you to use His Name. Use it with reverence, awe and understanding that it has the power to cause things to shift and change.
Psalm 20:7 Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, but we will trust in and boast of the name of the Lord our God.
JESUS! It is the beautiful Name above all Names.
I have been doing a series of FaceBook lives over the past 2 weeks on the Names of God. These videos are on the Facebook page for you to view at your leisure. They will give you a greater revelation of who God says He is and how He will act on your behalf based on who He says He is.
